Executive Summary
The Judicial Support Network (JSN) is a voluntary association of Judges in England and Wales across all jurisdictions to offer mutual support and assistance. It was formed in 2021 under International Law which permits judges to form such associations to protect the interests of the judiciary. Members comprise salaried judges and fee-paid judges, including Tribunal judges, in England and Wales.
This request for an investigation is supported as a matter of principle by several public bodies on behalf of their members namely:
- The GMB Union
- The Society of Black Lawyers
- The Society of Asian Lawyers
- The Black Solicitors’ Network
- The Association of Women Barristers
In addition, various other bodies that have an interest in judicial appointments have indicated their support to the principle of an investigation or inquiry by the EHRC. The JSN will provide the EHRC with details of these bodies as and when their written confirmation of such support has been received by it.
